Brendan G. Mangan, DVM, MS, DACVO®

Board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist

Brendan G. Mangan, DVM, MS, DACVO ®, Board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist, joined the team in 2023 and practices at VEI Gainesville and VEI Ocala.

Dr. Mangan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Rochester. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Mangan completed a small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery from Cornell University Hospital for Animals. He returned to Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences to complete his residency and earn his Master of Science degree in Clinical Sciences.

Following a period of private practice in Southern California, Dr. Mangan became a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After working in academia, Dr. Mangan established the first private practice ophthalmology service in Gainesville, FL.

He has a specialist interested in corneal and adnexal surgery and enjoys working with a variety of species.

When not with patients, you’ll find Dr. Mangan outdoors playing soccer, skiing, or fly-fishing.
