Francheska Ortiz, DVM, Practice Limited to Diseases of the Animal Eye is a veterinarian, who joined VEI Ocala in 2022.
Dr. Ortiz attended Miami-Dade Honors College where she earned her Associate in Arts degree. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in animal sciences from the University of Florida. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Ortiz completed a small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners. She completed a comparative ophthalmology and neurology internship at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Ortiz completed an additional internship and her residency at VEI Ocala.
Dr. Ortiz has a special interest in retinal imaging and retinal pathology. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is working with a pet’s family to explain what is going on with their companion animal in a way they can understand.
In her free time, Dr. Ortiz enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her family in Florida, cuddling with her cat, Delilah, and watching Harry Potter.
