Kevin S. Donnelly is a Board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist who joined VEI Plano in 2023.
Dr. Donnelly attended Westminster College in Fulton, MO, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then went on to earn his Doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Donnelly completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. His residency in comparative ophthalmology was completed at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine while also completing a Master’s of Science in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences.
Upon earning his board certification, Dr. Donnelly became a clinical instructor in ophthalmology at his alma mater. He next spent three years as a practicing ophthalmologist with BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Oklahoma City and subsequently returned to the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine where he was an assistant teaching professor of ophthalmology.
Dr. Donnelly has authored numerous publications and made significant contributions to the veterinary profession, including national presentations at the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology conference. He is the recipient of the ACVO Cynthia Wheeler Memorial Award for Best Case Report and the Redhage Award from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine.
Outside of the practice, you’ll find Dr. Donnelly spending time with his wife, their young son, and their dog. He enjoys fishing, boating, camping and pretty much anything outdoors.
